Frisco-Online Advertising Policy

While Frisco-Online LLC ("Frisco-Online") strives to partner with only the most reputable businesses, Frisco-Online does not warrant the products or services advertised on the site or referred by its members. All complaints against a sponsor of Frisco-Online, should be made directly to the sponsor. Frisco-Online is not liable for faulty service or products of its sponsors.

Frisco-Online is funded by advertisers who pay to be listed in a sponsor directory, use their signature line as a business billboard in all of their posts, and have their banner ads placed throughout the site.

One of our goals is for the Forum section of Frisco-Online to be a useful community resource free of unauthorized advertising. We understand that sometimes local businesses will be discussed and that business owners may wish to join the discussions. Please follow these guidelines:

Signature Guidelines
No Emoticons are allowed in your signature line. External links in your signature line are allowed on a case-by-case basis. Eligible sponsors may use the signature line to post a link to their website as described below. Links to personal sites will also be allowed if the purpose and content of the site is deemed appropriate for the users of Frisco-Online. In all cases, external links must be submitted to admin for review before posting. Frisco-Online reserves the right to remove any external link at any time, for any reason, at their sole discretion, including, but not limited to, external links previously approved.

Upon approval, please follow these guidelines when creating a signature in your profile:

1. If you have a personal site, feel free to link it with descriptive text.
   Example: Visit my site to see pictures of my pets.
    
2. If you are an eligible sponsor, you can link it, but the link text must be the same as the link. No other business information will be allowed in the signature, unless your sponsorship agreement specifically authorizes you to do so. You may link both a site and an email address (see #3).
   Examples:
   Acceptable: http://www.isellwidgets.com
   Not Acceptable: Click here to buy widgets.
    
3. All emails must be linked using the same text as the linked email address.
   Examples:
   Acceptable: widgetguy@isellwidgets.com
   Not Acceptable: Click here to contact me.
    
4. In all cases signatures should be 4 lines or fewer when viewed 800X600 and should be appropriate according to our Terms of Service guidelines.

Posting Guidelines
Please follow these guidelines when posting in the Forum as a business owner:

1. Do not initiate posts about your own business unless you are asking for business advice, relating an anecdote, or asking a general question that would normally be appropriate for the category. If it has nothing to do with the post, specific business information should be left out.
   Example:
   Acceptable: I'm looking for an attorney who has experience in formation of retail business partnerships.
   Not Acceptable: I need an attorney for my new widget selling business that will be opening this summer in a brand new state-of-the-art facility in Frisco.
    
2. If someone has requested information about a product or service you provide, feel free to give professional advice and helpful general information, industry-specific information, and expected price ranges.
   Example:
   Original Post: I'm wanting to buy widgets.
   Acceptable Reply: I sell widgets, and my advice is to not pay more than $5 each and to stay away from the purple ones.
    
3. You may post a reply indicating that you are available for offline discussion about your specific business if it relates to the thread.
   Example:
   Original Post: I'm wanting to buy widgets.
   Acceptable Reply: I sell widgets. Send me a Private Message or email me at widgetguy@isellwidgets.com.
    
4. Do not send any unsolicited Private Messages advertising your business.
    
5. You may join discussions in progress about your businesses to respond to criticism or praise. However, discussions will be monitored and participants may be asked to take those discussions offline depending on the circumstances. Advertising will not be allowed in the responses.
   Example:
   Original Post: I got a great deal on widgets from the I Sell Widgets guy.
   Acceptable Reply: I'm glad we could help you out - thanks!
   Not Acceptable: Hey, I forgot to tell you that we also sell widget holders - give me a call and I'll give you a 10% price break.
    
6. We encourage users to post both good and bad experiences they have had with local businesses. However, small groups sometimes post praise for each other over and over to keep their names on the Forum and to get around self-advertising. Frequent "good experience with a business" posts by the same person(s) that have no additional information or substance may be deleted.

Classifieds
Frisco-Online provides a category for classified ads. This category is intended for use by individuals selling personal tangible goods and for advertising garage sales. No business solicitations or ads for services are allowed.

1. The Classifieds category does not allow replies. Be sure to include contact information (email or Private Message suggested). Garage sales should include dates, times, and location, and may include a listing of items.
    
2. If you are selling multiple items, include them in a single post.
    
3. You may create a duplicate post after 7 days if your item does not sell.
    
4. If your item sells, you can edit your post to indicate that it is no longer available. Moderators will delete posts that have been edited to show all items sold. Moderators will also delete posts for expired events, such as past-date garage sales or tickets for past-date events.
    
5. You may post to advertise the sale, lease, or rent of your own non-business real property and may create links to listing sites or real estate agent sites with more information.
    
6. Do not list items that are committed to online auction services. For example, you cannot list an item and create a link to an eBay auction listing that item to try to generate bids.
    
7. You may post for items or services wanted, including those that may generate responses from business owners.
